...but reckless former governors are good to go.

In the same haphazard manner in which he steered the Show-Me ship of state, former Mo. Governor Matt Blunt took to the Springfieldian streets to wreak havoc upon the Vespa-riding citizenry.

Officers said Blunt crashed his sport utility vehicle into a man riding a scooter at a central Springfield intersection around 7 p.m. Monday.

The 21-year-old scooter driver was taken to a local hospital with scrapes on a forearm and a bruise on his head. His name was not released.

Blunt was issued a summons for failing to yield the right of way.

Authorities believe the monoterm politician was in a hurry to make it to the local Office Depot before it closed in order to purchase a new paper shredder.
